Well friday was my first day of class and luckily I only have one friday class: Human Communications. My prof. is pretty cool and she looks like she just stepped out of the 80’s. You know; the big hair with the teased bangs and really ugly, brightly colored suit. I’m pretty sure it was fuschia. WOW.
Prof. Philips gave us our syllubus (along with typical first day run-throughs) and then we watched a movie called “To Sir, With Love”. It was actually not too bad; it held my attention, but then again I have this weird thing for older movies…this was set around the 60’s. Now we have to write a reflective essay on it. No more high school where you sleep through the movie with nothing to do after it. Everything I do now will have the following phrase: “Now write a paper on it.” Fabulous.
Well after that I went to work like any other friday night. Maddi, Evelin, Carlos and myself went to the waffle house next to Folk’s where I work afterwards and hung out for a while. Well, Maddi wasn’t feeling well so I told her to go home and I would take Evelin home. So she left and we got into Carlos’ borrowed car so he can drive us back to Folk’s to get my car. The car refused to start. As we were praying for it to start…we noticed that where the stereo should be was empty. Great; he left his WINDOWS OPEN.
Awesome, so we are sitting there talking waiting for the car to cool down (says carlos) and we see two police cars outside of folk’s and they were just walking around. Then they disappear to the other side of the building where my car was at that point still sitting. Crap. I imagined my windows knocked out and MY stereo missing! So we walk over (on account of his car still is not working for us) and the two police cars are parked directly behind my car and one of the police has his flashlight shining in my car. (At this point I’m PRAISING GOD that I don’t do drugs, drink, ect. because this is when it all comes back to bite ya in the butt.)
I walk up to him and inform him that this is my car. He proceeded to ask me if I like my car and if I like the things in it…Yeah, I guess I do enjoy being to get to point A to point B without the constant “Hey can you give me a ride”. Thanks for asking Po Po. He said, “Come here, I want to show you something.” Now as he led me to my lovely car I had nightmarish visions of my front windshield being completely gone and randoms things missing. He just pointed to my GPS and said, “If you like that you should probably take it down because there have been reportings of…” and he just kinda went off on this tangent that I somewhat paid attention to. After I realized that he neither was giving me a ticket nor telling me my car had been jacked up I figured what he was “informing” me was not so important. I thanked him of course for the words of wisdom and we all went on our way. Carlos’ car ended up starting and he didn’t seem to mind that he was returning the borrowed car with missing pieces…
That was my first day of college and it was pretty exciting. I cant wait to see what happens when I go 5 days in a row.
