the good, the bad, and the what just happened?

{October 29, 2008}   Dead Cars, Trunks, and Strangers

Yesterday was a roller coaster of emotions for me, and the ride didn’t really start until I got out of class at 7:15. After listening to “We Will Rock You” by Queen during my test because of the basketball game going on right outside of class, I went to my car on the second floor of the east parking deck and…it wouldn’t start. Well this has happened before; I just wait a few minutes push the brake and try again… Still nothing…Still nothing…Still nothing…

I called my family because we were all supposed to go to the Marietta Diner for Maddi’s birthday dinner and so they decided to just come get me and we would go eat before we decided to try and jump it to get it to a repair shop.

Food was incredible. And dessert…even better. Everything was amazing…including the service; thank you Victor. ;)

We come back to the now empty garage and maneuver my car and Mom’s van to where it would be easiest to jump but still out of the way for other drivers… Its not taking. We wait around 12 minutes and I try again… And again…Still nothing. We figured it MUST be my starter.

We call AAA (they now know me on a first name basis by now. they practically screen my call: “yes ms. regan? your at KSU again? ok we’ll send someone your way…again.”) and she said that it would be a 30 to 90 minute wait. We headed over to the dorms because Tyler and Austin called to see if we wanted to watch The Strangers with them. We tell them what’s going on and while giving them the run down, the tow truck guy called me. It was amazing that I could understand him through his mumbles, but i managed and he told me he would be there in thirty minutes. So we drive back over to the garage and wait.

About 20 minutes later the guy calls me again to get directions from to the garage. As I tell him to take a right onto Frey road, I hear, “Oh…oops…I just ran a red light…Like it was seriously red…oh no…Do lots of cops stay over in this area?” GREAT. My tow truck guy is about to get pulled over and with my luck he’ll have drugs in his car and be arrested. Well…luckily no cops caught him and we see him pull up to the parking deck and he OF COURSE cant fit.

As he is telling me this dreadful news…The boys (tyler, austin, ian and chris) pull up and are HYPER. So I guess it wasn’t as big a deal as I thought that he couldn’t fit the truck in because Ian hops in my car and says to the guys “PUSH ME!” and he puts it in neutral and they just easily coast and ride my car (literally tyler was on my car) down to where the truck is. They seriously made my night. I was so excited that they showed up (their heads are getting bigger as they read this) that I was in the best mood even though I was ready to cry about 10 seconds before they showed up. As he hooks up my car to his truck the guys are playing frisbee up and down all the levels of the garage.

THEN mom and dad go home and Maddi, Ian, Tyler, Chris, Austin, and myself try to pile into Tyler’s Corolla. This was difficult considering all the stuff Tyler had in his car. So this was the seating arrangement:

Driver seat: Tyler

Passenger seat: Chris, Austin

Back driver seat: Amp

Back passenger seat: Kelsianne, Maddi

Trunk: Ian

Lets just say its a good thing we didn’t get pulled over…

After that we got to their dorm and watched The strangers (one of the scariest movies i have EVER seen). I’d might as well been a bear the way I mauled Ian. I all but pushed him off the couch ever time something made me jump (and that was pretty much the whole movie). And Tyler on the other side of me was upside down on the couch by the end of it. Needless to say: It was intensely creepy.

Austin and Tyler were kind enough to take me and maddi home considering our lack of car.

Thanks guys for making my night better! You all are seriously AMAZING friends!

{October 21, 2008}   The Cold

This is my favorite time of year. I’m starting to see my breath at night and when the sun shines during the day, the warmth mixes with the cold and I get the feeling as though i’m riding with my windows down in the winter with the heat blaring. An odd description, I do realize this, but some of you will understand.

The time frame from mid-October to January 1st is the best time of year. All the best holidays are in there, Halloween, Thanksgiving, CHRISTMAS, and New Year. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

{October 19, 2008}   Cute Guys & Embarrassment.

I ALWAYS seem to make myself seem ridiculously retarded every time I am around one.

Today, at one of my tables, there was this beautiful young man. I could barely form actual words while trying to take his order. Well he asked me if we had any butter and honey to go with his biscuit; do you know what said when I gave it to him? “Here’s your boney (i pronounced that as “bunny”) and hutter. Really? I wanted to DIE.  … Luckily he was really cool about it and said that he does stuff like that all the time but i’m sure that he was just trying to help me seem less like a dork than i already was.

After work today I headed to six flags and met everyone from small group and we had a LOT of fun! So Tyler, Matt, Callie, Ryan and I all get on Acrophobia (the one that drops you 200 feet-INCREDIBLE) and there was this >not ugly< guy who I kept making eye contact with while i was getting on the ride. Well, we all go to get off. I am on the shorter side so I was having trouble. Well I figure I will just try and hop over my seat to get out…NOPE.

Before I knew it i was on my back on the ground. I didn’t quite make it over the thing i was jumping over and I clipped it. Wow. I didn’t have the courage to see if Cute Guy was laughing at me. It was enough that all my FRIENDS were laughing. But I won’t lie. It was HILARIOUS!  I was laughing so hard that even when Ryan helped me up…I couldn’t walk straight and almost fell over AGAIN. Wow. Good times.

Haha no wonder i’m single lol!

That was my exciting yet somewhat embarrassing day. I even have a big nasty scrape where I landed on my knee after failing to jump over my seat.

Anyways: FreedomGeneration TOMORROW!!!!

{October 10, 2008}   I might have seen a dead guy.

The other day, at the front entrance of the KSU library, I found about 7 campus policemen and one or two security guards (you know the difference between them, one has a gun, the other has a plastic badge) Well they were all standing around under the awning. It was raining, so my first impression was annoyance instead of concern because I did NOT have an umbrella which was causing me to get WET. The part where I became concerned was when I suddenly saw what they were all looking at.

There was one policeman standing more out of the awning than any of the others, if that makes sense, to keep people from coming in that particular entrance. As he told me to use another door, I noticed what all the fuss was. There was a guy (mid 20’s, nicely built; looked like a tall football player: your welcome for the visual) laying on one of the benches under the awning.

He was not moving and his eyes were closed. Was he dead? I’m still to this moment not sure. He could have been. No one was working on him like giving him CPR or anything they were all just standing around waiting for something. The coroner perhaps? Well it was an interesting day and it had me nervous throughout the rest of my classes. I couldn’t concentrate on anything. That guy laying there motionless was all I could see.
